We are having an ART SHOW Nov 3rd-24th featuring the work of the instructors at The Painted Tree. Please come and see their work at Meet @ 66 King Street daily between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Paivi will be here July 17th teaching colour mixing, harmonizing colours, lessing the intensity in colour and more! This is a one day workshop starting at 10:00 am. It’s 50.00 plus GST/HST. Pay before July 1st and beat the HST!
We now carry a selection of standard sized ready made frames-5×7,8×10,11×14,16×20,20×24 and 24×24. We have several different styles to choose from.
Monique Hills will be here for 6 weeks starting March 22nd teaching the basics in watercolour. Monique is a very popular intructor who will show you the basics of how to do wonderful watercolour paintings.
Starting March 4th Lucy Manley is beginning another 4 week Oil Painting Course. Lucy has a wonderful, loose style of painting landscapes that she teaches her students with enthusiasm. Don’t miss this course!

This March Break we are having a week long ‘Art Attack’ at the store!
You set the schedule that is best for you. We are having morning and afternoon classes, everyday of the week. Each class is $25.00! The subjects for the classes are set by the day.

The fee will include all the instruction and materials your children will need.
The instructor is accredited artist Gina Rocca from the Haliburton School of the Arts. Reserve your preferred times as seating is limited. For ages 8 and up.
Sunday, February 28th we are hosting two complimentary demonstrations here at the store. Gerry Johnson will be sicussing the importance fo properly framing your valuable artwork and Lorrie Priddle will show us how William Waterhouse (1849 – 1917) painted to create the amazing effects of his day.

Friday mornings at The Painted Tree in Cobourg will feature an open paint. For a fee of $5.00 you are welcome to come and paint in whatever style and medium you choose. There will be no instruction for this course. This is a great way to chat and learn from other artists. Coffee and tea will be provided.
Waterfront by Frans Aeyelts
Once again we are very excited to be bringing Frans Aeyelts all the way from Nova Scotia for another three day workshop in October (1st,2nd and 3rd). Our first workshop with Frans in April was so successful we have planned another.
Frans will teach us how to use watercolour to paint wonderful, vibrant paintings from our photographs. In three days three paintings will be completed.
All of the elements of a great painting will be discussed, beginning with the correct composition. Sign up early as seating is limited.
