Well, after a couple of years of debating the pros and cons we've finally made the move. As of June 1st we are now strictly doing Custom Framing at our new studio by appointment.
This change is allowing me to semi-retire which I've been wanting to do for awhile now (about 40 years...lol).
Starting an art supply store in a small community during an economic turndown was a risky move, but it turned out to be a success. After 16 years, I am truly grateful for the lifelong friends I've made, the talented artists I've met, and the deep involvement in the art community. I want to express my thanks to everyone who contributed to this success!
Since announcing the recent closure of the store, I have been touched by the flood of comments from individuals whose lives have been positively affected by their experiences at the store. Many have shared stories of building meaningful relationships, uncovering their artistic talents, and embarking on creative journeys because of their time spent at the store. It became clear that the store will be missed. While its closure is also a source of sadness for us, we are pleased to continue with the custom framing services at our home on a part time bases.
I am incredibly grateful to everyone who helped turn my dream of owning a small business into a reality. This journey not only provided me with valuable business insights but also deepened my appreciation for art.
Thanks
