Simon trained at the University of Toronto, and was an art educator for over thirty years. Always a city boy, he escaped to small-town Ontario to pursue a new direction in art.
From 1998 -2010 he worked on a series of paintings exploring life in Mississauga; ten of these works are part of the permanent collection of the Mississauga Library, while others are scattered throughout private collections in the GTA. Currently his explorations focus on ideas that cannot be expressed in words. His paintings are as eclectic as his interests, and can be seen here.
